Configure Basic Search Settings

A tqAdmin with suitable permissions can use this procedure to do the following:
  • Specify which Website Categories are included in the search range
  • Specify sort-by criteria for search results
  • Eliminate multiple topic hits

Before You Begin

Make sure that your Website is enabled for the Search Analysis Module.

Make sure that a search Category exists under your Website Language, and that the appropriate template is assigned to it. For more information, see the following topics:

To configure basic search settings

  1. Make sure that you are logged in to siteAddress/tqtag, as described in Log in to tqTag Site Manager.
  2. If the Languages and Categories navigation panel is not displayed, click Content module group icon.
  3. In the navigation panel, click the search Category.
  4. On the Content Items page, click Category Settings.
  5. On the Category Settings page, in the Active list, select No and then click Save.
  6. On the parallel topics menu, click Assign Items to Template.
  7. On the transparent menu, under Content, click the appropriate command button (for example Search Results).
  8. In the dialog box that opens, do the following:
    1. In the Category Selection box, select all Categories that you want to be searchable (use the Shift and Ctrl keys for multiple selection).
    2. In the Sort By boxes, select the criteria by which search results will be sorted.
    3. To prevent multiple display of a topic, in the Distinct (Select only unique rows) list, select Yes.
    4. Click Save.
    5. Click Close button to close the dialog box.
